Residents Committed
to Restoring Architectural Heritage

This City government
is not the only one working to preserve Coral Gables’ heritage.  A couple of homeowners in the Dutch South African Village have taken historic preservation to heart. Amos and Sharon Lombard Miller are committed to preserving the understated elegance of their distinct home. In doing so, the Millers worked with the Coral Gables based architecture firm Cure & Penabad to restore the feel of their 1926 two-story house.

Every detail of the house was examined and restored, a painstaking process that took three years to complete. The results, though, speak for themselves. The residence has received two restoration awards: the Dade Heritage Trust Award and the Florida Trust for Historic Preservation Award. Congratulations to the homeowners and the architects for being dedicated to preserving the past and creating a lasting legacy of the City’s architectural diversity.

Residentes Preservan Herencia Arquitectónica

El gobierno local de la Ciudad no es el único interesado en preservar la herencia de Coral Gables. Una pareja de propietarios de la Aldea Sudafricana Holandesa, ha tomado muy en serio el tema de la conservación histórica.
Amos y Sharon Lombard Miller están comprometidos a preservar la elegancia de su distinguido hogar, por lo que contrataron a la firma Cure & Penabad, con sede en Coral Gables, para restaurar el sentimiento de su histórica propiedad que se remonta a los años 1926. Cada detalle de la casa fue examinado y restaurado, en un esmerado proceso que tomó tres años para completarse. Los resultados, aunque hablan por sí solos, les confirieron dos premios de restauración, incluyendo el Premio Dade Heritage Trust y el Florida Trust, dedicado a la preservación histórica. Felicidades a los propietarios y a los arquitectos por su dedicación en la preservación de nuestro pasado el cual constituye un legado para la diversidad arquitectónica de nuestra ciudad.
